She was born in 1971, in İstanbul. She studied primary and secondary school in İstanbul. While she was studying at Boğaziçi University, Philosophy Departmant, she performed at Yesua Aroyo polyphony chamber chorus as a chorist. At the same time, she has started to take solfegé and singing lessons from opera musician of Iran stock Elvin Bahçeban and İstanbul University Conservotary Lecturer Gül Sabar. Her first album “Yollar” that producer was Sarp Özdemiroğlu was released in 1997. She aroused interests with her hit song called “Sabır”. Göksel who entered upon a new phase as a composer and vocalist, clearly showed her difference in 2000 with her album “Körebe” that producer was Alper Erinç. After the album released, hit song of the album “Depresyondayım” aroused attentions from all different groups in the society with its different lyrics and sound. This album has chosen the best album of the year by the music critics, and “Depresyondayım” which lyrics and music belong to her chosen the best song of the year too. After two years, Göksel met her fans again with the album “Söz Ver” in 2003. In the same year , she sang Greek band Omega Vibes' song called “Karşı Kıyıya” in Turkish, and she performed with the band Omega Vibes. Göksel met her fans again with her 4th album called “Arka Bahçem” in 2005. Composition and lyric of 10 song from the album belong to herself. The producer of this album was Alper Erinç, and the hit song of the album was “Karar Verdim”. After her album called “Ay'da Yürüdüm” in 2007, she is continuing preperations for her new album nowadays.
